Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!, at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland, on Jan. 25, 2013.
Live the User Experience
Before she was named the head of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer made waves at Google by using an iPhone instead of an Android smartphone. She also refused to install broadband internet in her home until it became available to most U.S. households, according to an in-depth profile by Business Insider. Mayer did these things to get a better understanding how the majority of Google users experienced the Internet, a move that contributed to fast-loading, streamlined Google websites, and intuitive iOS apps.
