Sheryl Sandberg
Set a Hard Deadline
With the publication of Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In, much has been said about the COO’s admission of leaving the office every day by 5:30 p.m. “I’ve been doing that since I had kids,” Sandberg said in an interview with Inc. “I did that when I was at Google, I did that here, and I would say it’s not until the last year, two years, that I’m brave enough to talk about it publicly.” But to meet that deadline, she also arrives at the office as early as 7 a.m., and has spent hours emailing before work. And after dinner, she’s back working again.
